Fundraising Raffle Raises $$$ For Signature Project

Club President Elect Steve Patrick looks on as guest speaker Nicole McLeod of The Family Place draws the Grand Prize winner.
The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club's first major fundraiser of 2016 was a success, raising big bucks for our Signature Project. This was the second iteration of our fundraising raffle. Club members were tasked with selling 20 raffle tickets at $15 apiece. Members who did not wish to sell their tickets, or were simply feeling lucky, could purchase the tickets for themselves. The prizes were as follows:
- Grand Prize - $1,500
- 2nd Prize - $500 + 2 round-trip Southwest Airlines tickets
- 3rd Prize - 2 round-trip Southwest Airlines tickets
The winning tickets belonged to Samantha Fuller (Grand Prize), Thomas Knipp (2nd Prize) and John Osborne (3rd Prize). However, every Club member came away a winner, as the ticket stubs doubled as valuable, money-saving coupons to local eateries, including Agave Azul, Marshall's BBQ, Jaxx Steakhouse and Kenny's Italian Kitchen. As of press-time, the net proceeds from the fundraiser are estimated to be around $6,000.
The Club's next two fundraising efforts will be the Spring SHRED-A-THON on April 23rd and the Glo-Ball Golf Tournament in May.
