Today is always an exciting time for our Rotary Club. Every year in the month of June as we end our fiscal year, we have the opportunity to make contributions to non-profit organizations in our community who are providing support to those in need in Carrollton and Farmers Branch.
Each organization has their own specific focus on the kind of support they provide. This year we made financial donations to 5 different organizations.
Metrocrest Services provide a multitude of support the those in need of food, clothing, housing support along with a variety of other needs. Their ultimate goal is to help families through a crises so they can eventually get back to making their own way once again.
Envision Dallas, who is located in Farmers Branch, provides crucial programs, services and employment for people who are blind or visually impaired in North Texas. They ae proud to be one of the largest employers of people who are blind or visually impaired in the U.S manufacturing quality American-made products every day.
American Legion Post 597 is Carrollton’s home for veterans, families, service, and community. Since 1947, we have served local veterans, supported youth programs, hosted community events, and preserved the traditions of service and patriotism. Their efforts include advocating for Veterans' rights, helping where needed, and engaging in community outreach to enhance the well-being of those they serve. Through their dedicated members and volunteers, they strive to make a positive impact while upholding the values of service and patriotism.
Operation Kindness Humane Society is a pioneer in Texas for assisting animals in need of veterinary care, companionship and most of all, a home. They operate a lifesaving animal shelter in Carrollton, TX.
In addition to pet adoptions and lifesaving medical care, their programs provide foster care for vulnerable animals, resources for pet parents, affordable veterinary services for community pets, a pet food pantry and volunteer opportunities.
Make It Count, formally Bea’s Kids, is a nonprofit whose mission is to provide educational and personal development programs to children in underserved communities, helping them break the cycle of poverty. They help meet immediate needs in the community. They offer a summer camp experience at no cost to the kids, back to school new shoes along with providing an annual Christmas Giveaway.
It is our honor and privilege to be able to support these organizations in our community in our hope to help them make a difference in the lives of those in need.
